Most unanswered quotes are not rejections — clients are busy. Following up at least once increases your acceptance rate by 30-40%.
When to follow up
- First: 3-5 business days after sending
- Second: 7-10 days after the first follow-up
- Final: A few days before the validity date expires
Using the validity date as leverage
A few days before it expires: "Quote #Q-001 is valid until [date] — please let me know if you would like to proceed." This creates urgency without pressure.
